Crypto Gaming Weekly: Reaper Actual Launch and MapleStory Universe Update
John Smedley, a veteran in the gaming industry, has unveiled Distinct Possibility Studios with its flagship blockchain-integrated first-person shooter, Reaper Actual. The PC-based open-world multiplayer game boasts the largest FPS map ever created—four times the size of Call of Duty: Warzone's Al Mazrah. Set on the war-torn island of Marova, players assume the role of "Reapers," tasked with upgrading and defending bases amid conflicts between five AI-controlled factions. The game blends mechanics from Call of Duty: DMZ, Escape from Tarkov, and Rainbow Six Siege.
Following a $30.5 million funding round, the pre-alpha Foundation version is slated for imminent release. Players must purchase a limited-edition base, available either as an NFT on Tezos layer-2 network Etherlink or through supported Web2 platforms. Meanwhile, Nexon's MapleStory Universe continues to advance its blockchain ambitions, though details remain under wraps.
